Sajou Eiffel Tower Embroidery Scissors in 4 models. Made in France.
This Sajou Eiffel Tower pair of embroidery scissors is a re-issue of a 19th century model. The Eiffel Tower was constructed for the Universal Exhibition in 1889. It was during this exhibition that Jacques-Simon Sajou was awarded a silver medal. You will notice the detail of the grid pattern simulating the metallic girders of the Tower.... as well as the quality of the screw. The blades are very pointed for precision work.
The Eiffel Tower scissors come in 2 editions: chrome and gilded. Each pair of scissors comes with Eiffel Tower charm, made specially for this model. There are 2 variations of Chrome or Gilded scissors: one with blue charm and orange/blue pompon, and one with pink charm and pink pompon. The orange and blue pompom (cult colours of the maison Sajou) and pink pompon, were made in a soft furnishings workshop in the Saint Etienne region.
Quality scissors can be recognized by, among other things, their pairing marks: these are the signs that the blades have been perfectly adjusted for the start of their fabrication. This is a number that you can see on the interior of each of the blades. This number is different on each pair of scissors. It should be pointed out that it takes a dozen qualified people to make each pair.
